Overview of the Production Support and Exhibition Support programs for Creators in Japan Production Support Program / Exhibition Support Program for Creators in Japan

About the Programs

The Project to Support Emerging Media Arts Creators encourages and supports young creators, with the aim of improving the industry standards in media arts for the coming generations, as well as establishing a nurturing environment for the artists. Additionally, by promoting exchanges among domestic and international creators in the field of media arts, fostering domestic creators through these exchange opportunities, and widely disseminating their achievements, the project intends to contribute by prompting the improvement and development of Japan’s media arts standards.

1. Production Support Program for Creators in Japan targets creators up to their 40s, who have been active for over five years or have received national or international awards. The program invites proposals for new work creation in the media arts field. Selected proposals are then supported with a production budget, advice and technical assistance from experts, and an opportunity to interact with other creators, and present the results.

2. Exhibition Support Program for Creators in Japan targets creators up to their 40s, who have been active for over three years. The program invites proposals for the exhibition of media arts works and supports opportunities for national, international, and online presentations by providing expert advice and covering expenses related to the exhibitions.
