概略
前作『ジェネレーション 1』の発展系として、参加者とロボットが協創することを目的に据えた“ドローイングの記憶”を構築するプロジェクト。古来の描き方や現代におけるドローイングの方法について、ディープ・ラーニングの手法や中立的なアルゴリズムに則って、あらゆるものや人から影響を受けたドローイングを行う。
Developing off of “Generation 1”, the goal of this project is to create a “collective memory of drawing” from a collaboration between the participant and robot. It creates drawings influenced from a variety of things and people, based on deep learning processes and neutral processes such as algorithms on ancient and contemporary drawing methods.
プロフィール
カナダ生まれ、中国育ち、ニューヨーク在住。アーティスト、MITメディアラボ客員研究員。人間とコンピュータの相互作用を理解するアプローチとして、手描きによる軌跡と、ロボットによる軌跡について探求している。彼女の作品は、ジュネーブの現代美術館、国立新美術館、ニューミュージアム（ニューヨーク）などで展示されたほか、The New Yoker誌やトライベッカ映画祭でも紹介されている。
Born in Canada, raised in China, currently in New York. Artist and Research Affiliate at MIT Media Lab. She investigates hand drawn marks and machine-made marks as an approach to understand the interaction between humans and computers. Her work has been shown in many places such as the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Geneva, National Art Center, Tokyo, New Museum (New York) among others. It has also been featured in The New Yorker, and the Tribeca Film Festival.
